Just a splendid place for an overnight stop. Great view of the beach! I wish more hotels in the US were like this. The rooms were cozy and clean and Jane at the front desk was just so lovely and helpful.
Stayed with my partner and dog last week and had a great time. The owner was very friendly and squeezed us in last minute. Her dog was also very sweet. Fire pit for the guests to enjoy, great views of the water. Room was an updated version of a classic coast highway motel. Nice furniture and good water pressure.
Jade was absolutely amazing. Great service and hospitality. Felt very taken care of the moment we pulled in. Great coffee machine and views. Spacious room even with bikes.
Great value if you want to save by not staying at Mendocino. Located next to the beach. Room was a bit average ( strange TV and bed) but great service and excellent breakfast. They have organic coffee in the room and a machine that makes any type of coffee you are in the mood for, in the breakfast room.
A hidden treasure. I stayed for two nights and I was very happy. Had a view of the ocean with a standard room. Took a little bit to get used to the down topper on the bed as I don't have that kind at home but other than that I felt very glad to have stayed and it's the best price in town. There's a place at the bottom of the motel that you can walk to and watch the hundreds of pelicans fly and land and watch the sunsets. There's is also a fire pit and a little trail along the bluff. About 3 miles away is a regional park you can drive to and walk town to the beach. There was hardly anyone at the regional park when I went and it was just beautiful. The woman at the desk gives you a list of all the restaurants in the area with days and times their open which is super helpful. Went to the thai restaurant in anchor bay. Super yummy! Overall it was very relaxing and a great place for a little get away from the busy bayarea.
We have been to Gualala many times but this time was a spontaneous stop. We quickly booked on Monday for a Wednesday arrival and were greeted by Jade who treated us like family making sure we were comfortable. The room was clean and homey. Gorgeous views and sunsets with chairs set up inviting a great spot to relax and enjoy the view. Jade is a true gem! Thank you for everything!
Surf Inn is such a lovely motel! The room was very cozy and clean. The bathroom was well kept with everything you need. The views from the room and the driveway are spectacular with a lovely sit out facing the ocean. It’s a great place to spend a night or two. A special mention to Jane and the delicious complimentary breakfast :) thank you again for making us feel so comfortable and welcomed.
Had the best time at this location with me and my partner for our anniversary. It was perfect! The staff was extremely nice, the rooms were clean, the breakfast was all you needed with an amazing super nice coffee machine. The ocean was right there. Was able to sit at the fire pit provided and have a fire that night. Super peaceful and everything was in walking distance. It was the best! 10/10 for sure.
